SRI LANKAN JOURNAL OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS

Sri Lankan Journal of Agricultural Economics, abbreviated as SJAE, is a peer reviewed journal. The journal is published by Sri Lanka Agricultural Economics Association. Initial issue of the journal was published in 1993. The journal strictly follows double-blind peer review process as the policy for publication.

SJAE publishes manuscripts based on theory and applications of agricultural and resource economics. Sub areas of articles published so far include; production economics, consumer demand analysis, agricultural price analysis, agricultural marketing, international trade, international development, development economics, food, nutrition and health economics, land and labor economics, resource and environmental economics, energy economics, industrial organization, and agribusiness.

The journal in year 2000, became the first academic journal published in Sri Lanka to offer full-text access online. This was done through a free website hosted by Yahoo-Geocities. [ http://www.geocities.com/slageconr/sjae.html]. The journal was hosted by Sri Lanka Agricultural Economics Resources ( http://www.slageconr.net/sjae.html) from 2005 through 2017. This current website was launched in 2020. Contents from the previous site was used with appropriate updates. Sri Lankan Journals Online, an open access knowledge initiative by INASP( International Network for Access of Scientific Publications), supported by National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka, included SJAE in SLJOL [ https://www.sljol.info] since its inception in 2008.
